Robert A. Richert
He is inspired by the beauty of nature. He likes to hike and explore, pausing to bird watch, study, sketch, or take photographs. In the studio, he transforms his outdoor experiences into acrylic paintings that are naturalistic and visually exciting.

Robert grew up in Southern California at a time when open space was abundant. Many childhood days were spent exploring fields and creeks in search of insects, tadpoles or lizards. Eventually, these interests developed into a blending of art and science.

During the early 1970's, Robert majored in "Scientific Illustration" at California State University, Long Beach. There he learned to apply the discipline of science to the creation of art. Mr. Richert volunteers as an interpretive naturalist at local ecological reserves. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm about the outdoors with groups of adults and children. Through his artwork and volunteer time, Robert inspires people towards a heightened appreciation for the environment. Generous donations of his paintings and prints have raised thousands of dollars for conservation efforts.

Pursuing art full-time since 1978, Mr. Richert's style and subject matter continue to evolve. In recent years, Robert has become more interested in pure landscape as well as portraits of people.
